6. Wally

Wally is another app that you can use for iPhone or Android. It’s currently only accessible on mobile and tablets. But, according to the website, the company is currently working on a computer-accessible version.

You can use Wally to compare your income to expenses, create spending and savings goals, and to take pictures of receipts. Like all the other resources on this list its free to use and doesn’t have any annoying in-app advertisements.

This app is great to use if you want to have all overall view of your spending. The feature that allows you to take photos of your receipts is great too, as at the end of the month it’s easy to forget what we spent our money on.

7. YNAB

You Need a Budget, or YNAB for short is a complete budgeting tool that you can use to control every aspect of your finances. This service isn’t usually free, but if you’re a college student you can get a 12-month subscription at no cost. Not a student? Don’t worry, you can still take a 34-day free trial to see if YNAB is worth the $50 annual investment.

The free trial might be enough time to help you make some financial adjustments, then once your trial is up you could switch to one of the free apps in this list, instead. YNAB offers extra assistance that the free programs won’t. So, even if you decide to pay for the premium service it’ll help you because you’ll learn savvy finance skills that you can use for life. Once you feel confident in your ability, you can switch to an app like Mint or Wally and still have the same amount of control over your money.
