7. Southwest

While Southwest doesn’t offer any discounts for veterans, they do offer flight fare discounts for active duty military personnel and their dependents. Southwest will offer a percent off of traditional fares, with discounts varying from flight to flight. Southwest also waives all baggage fees for active duty personnel, including oversize and multiple bags.

To make good of these discounts call 1-800-I-FLY-SWA, or alternatively, purchase a ticket at the airport counter. This airline doesn’t offer discounts when you book through travel agents, online or other travel-booking websites, your booking must be direct. Additionally, you’ll need to present your military I.D at the airport to check in and receive your boarding pass. All fares are also completely refundable, and there is never a charge to change your flight.
