8. Medicare Information

As you’ll likely know, Medicare is a federal health insurance program for people who are over 65, and those under 65 claiming Social Security, that provides health insurance. But like everything else government related it can get a little complex.

If you need a hand with Medicare, you can turn to the State Health Insurance Program or SHIP for short. SHIP is a free service run by volunteers, that offers to counsel to those who qualify to receive Medicare. It’s funded by the government, so the use of this service won’t cost seniors a penny, and it’s got nothing to do with insurance agencies, either.
