5. Eat Before You Shop

This is serious. If you’re shopping during full-blown hunger, we can agree that you aren’t going to make the best money-saving choices. You’ll be driven by what you are craving, and you might even abandon your trusty list. It’ll be easier for you to make impulse purchases, so instead have a full-meal before you make the trip or at worst, eat a hearty snack.

If you’re drooling over candies and croissants, rational-thought might be thrown into the wind. In fact, it’s ideal if you’ve maybe eaten a little too much before you head to the grocery store. That way, you’ll be too full to think about wanting to eat anything in front of you.

However, if this is impossible for your schedule, make sure you pack a snack into your bag that you eat before entering the store. But, make sure it’s a filling snack, not something that will simply warm up your stomach for more.
