11 Awesome Ways to Make Money on Amazon
Here are 11 ways to cash in on Amazon’s riches.
1. Sell Items on Amazon
You’ve might’ve read one of our previous articles about Ryan Grant. He’s the 28-year old that made $8 million from flipping Walmart goods on Amazon.
While this is an extreme example, Amazon’s “associates program” has been up and running since 1996 and continues to bring in millions of customers for individuals like Grant.
If you want to be like Grant, Amazon suggests the following pointers:
Figure out what you want to sell: your items must fit into one of Amazon’s 37-plus selling categories and be approved by Amazon before you can get started. Find out all the details, here.
Select Your Selling Plan: Amazon’s “professional plan” costs $39.99 per month and is for those who sell more than 40 products per month. But, if you just getting started you can choose the individual plan that has no monthly subscription, but a $0.99 charge every time you sell an item instead. Find out all of the pricing options, here.
Create a Sell Central Account: once you’ve done this, you can start selling your goods. Once a customer places an order from your shop, Fulfillment by Amazon can handle the shipping, or you can do it yourself. Then, Amazon makes direct deposits to your bank account.
2. Work as a Fulfillment/Warehouse Associate
If you don’t fancy yourself as a salesperson, you can work behind the scenes instead.
Amazon fulfillment centers are constantly popping up all across the U.S, creating an influx of brand new jobs. Amazon is always looking for fulfillment/warehouse associates to work both full and part-time.
These job roles call for pretty hands-on work, like lifting boxes and operating dollies. According to a full-time warehouse associate in Wisconsin, pay is from $12.25 to $15.25 per hour. There are also some sweet job benefits that Amazon offer. These include:
- Health care benefits
- 401(k) with a company match
- Holiday and overtime pay
- Paid time off
- Maternity and paternity leave benefits
- Restricted Stock Units
- Employee discounts
- Amazon’s Career Choice Program, which helps pay for tuition
- Flexible work schedules
To apply for a job at Amazon, you must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
3. Deliver for Amazon Flex
Amazon Flex is the latest company to start offering flexible driving jobs. As an Amazon Flex delivery partner, you will be responsible for delivering goods to customers from Amazon.com, Prime Now, AmazonFresh and Amazon Restaurants.
According to Amazon, this gig pays $18 – $25 per hour with the option of setting your own schedule. Amazon Flex processes payments on Tuesday and Friday, so you should get your salary the following day.
If you’re considering becoming an Amazon Flex driver, this is what you need to know:
- For delivering Prime Now orders, you can use any car. But, for Amazon.com orders, you must drive a four-door midsize sedan or larger. Some deliveries are permitted via bicycle, but you must have a basket and helmet. However, motorcycles and scooters aren’t allowed.
- You’ll get all of your gigs through the Amazon Flex app, so you’ll need a fairly good phone. You must have an Android 6.0 or higher or an iPhone 5 or newer.
- Applicants must pass a background check, which will take 2 – 5 days to perform.
- You won’t be reimbursed for mileage, parking or tolls.
Amazon Flex is currently recruiting in the greater San Francisco Bay area, and Richmond, California, though this will change in the future. If your city isn’t on the list when you sign up, join the waitlist instead.
4. Work from Home for Amazon
Amazon is constantly hunting for new employees, and from time to time they post work-from-home customer service jobs.
According to previous customer service associate listings, pay is generally $10 per hour plus bonuses. You’ll need a high school diploma or GED equivalent and a year of experience in a customer service role, with proficiency in English.
You can search for work-from-home jobs on Amazon’s virtual job listing page.
5. Use Amazon’s Affiliate Program
If you run a website or a blog, Amazon’s Affiliate Program is a great way to bring in a new stream of cash flow.
It’s as simple as adding specific Amazon affiliate links to products that you’ve written about. Then, when a reader clicks on the link and buys the product you earn a commission. You can earn up to 10% of the purchase price.
You don’t need a certain audience size or amount of monthly views to join Amazon’s Affiliate program. However, you won’t earn much unless your blog or website is quite popular.
